Leads that come in through WhatsApp
Scrumboards doesn't read your WhatsApp conversations today. The connection to the WhatsApp Hub has been shut down, and new messages don't create leads on their own. To bring people who reach you on WhatsApp into the CRM, use a capture form that redirects to WhatsApp, the CRM API, or manual entry.
Option 1: a form that leads to WhatsApp
The person leaves their name and phone number on your website, becomes a lead in the CRM, and is then taken straight to a WhatsApp chat with you.
- Open CRM (CRM) › Formulários (Forms) and click Criar formulário (Create form).
- Add the Nome (Name) and WhatsApp (WhatsApp) fields.
- Under Após envio (After submit), choose Redirecionar para WhatsApp (Redirect to WhatsApp).
- Enter the Número WhatsApp (destino) (Destination WhatsApp number) and the Mensagem do WhatsApp (WhatsApp message). You can use form data in the message, as in “Hi, my name is {nome}”.
- Save and publish from the Botão (Button) tab, choosing the WhatsApp icon for the floating button.
Details in Capture form on your website.
Option 2: the CRM API
If your WhatsApp support tool can call an API, it can create the lead directly in Scrumboards.
- Open CRM › Integrações (Integrations).
- Create a Chave de API (API key) and copy it right away: it's only shown once.
- Follow the Documentação (Documentation) on the same screen to create leads, with the phone number in international format (country and area code).
Leads created through the API get the API tag. The Integrations screen requires the CRM API permission.
Option 3: manual entry
In the CRM, click Novo Lead (New lead) and fill in the details. On the lead record, check the WhatsApp channel under contact channels to record that the conversation happened there.
Frequently asked questions
Are leads that already came from WhatsApp still in the CRM?
Yes. Leads created while the integration was active stay on the board, with the WHATSAPP tag and their history.
Does a WhatsApp message change the lead's stage?
No. The stage only changes when someone moves the card or through an integration you set up via the API.
