Timer, hours worked, and time overrun justification

Every task has a timer. Open the task, go to the Registro de Tempo (Time log) tab, and click Iniciar cronômetro (Start timer). While it runs, a floating timer stays visible on every screen, with Pausar (Pause) and Parar (Stop) buttons. The task must be saved before you start tracking time.

Use the timer

  1. Open the task and click Iniciar cronômetro. If you spend a minute on the task without starting it, Scrumboards asks Bora dar play nessa tarefa? (Ready to hit play on this task?).
  2. Use Pausar during breaks and Parar when you're done.
  3. From the alerts icon on the floating timer, you can choose the reminder interval and turn on browser notifications.

Only one timer can run at a time. If you start another, Timer ativo (Active timer) appears with the option Finalizar e iniciar novo (Stop and start new).

Automatic pause

To keep time entries accurate, the timer pauses on its own after 2 hours in a row, or sooner depending on the multiplier set in the complexity. You'll see Timer pausado automaticamente (Timer paused automatically), with the options Continuar contando (Keep counting), Revisar apontamento (Review entry), or stop. Sessions that drop because of a closed tab, a sleeping computer, or a lost connection are also ended and flagged in the log list.

Add time manually

  1. In the Registro de Tempo tab, click Adicionar tempo (Add time).
  2. Enter the Data do trabalho (Work date, can't be in the future), the Duração (Duration) in hours and minutes, and optionally a description.
  3. Save. The entry appears as Lançamento manual (Manual entry).

Task assignees, administrators, the company owner, and roles with permission to edit time can add manual time.

Justify a time overrun

Each complexity has an estimated time. When a task goes over it, Scrumboards warns you and, to stop an overrun timer, asks for a justification in the Justificar estouro de tempo (Justify time overrun) window:

  1. Write the Motivo (Reason), at least 10 characters.
  2. If the tracked time is wrong, fill in Tempo real (minutos) (Actual time, minutes). This corrects the most recent time entry.
  3. Click Registrar justificativa (Submit justification).

Justifications are stored on the task under Justificativas de estouro (Overrun justifications) and feed the Estouros de tempo (Time overruns) report.
