AI agents that search the web and read client files

An agent only searches the internet or reads a client's files if those options are turned on in its profile. Both are in BrainPilot > Agentes (Agents) > Editar (Edit), and require the Criar e editar agentes (Create and edit agents) permission.

Turn on web search

  1. Open the agent's profile with Editar.
  2. Under Ações permitidas (Allowed actions), check Navegar na web (Browse the web).
  3. Save.

The agent can then search and read web pages, with up to 3 searches per answer, and lists its sources at the end. This feature only works with Anthropic's official AI (the platform AI or an Anthropic token). For security, in an answer where it read the web, the agent doesn't save any changes to the system.

Turn on client file reading

  1. In the agent's profile, find the skills.
  2. Check Ler os arquivos do cliente (aba Arquivos) (Read client files, Files tab).
  3. Save.

The agent can then look up PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, and text files uploaded to the client's Arquivos (Files) tab, and can cite the file and page. External links saved in the tab are only listed, not opened. Each file is read once per version, so a newly uploaded file may take a while to become available.

Limits that always apply

  • The agent never reads more than the person who asked can open. If you don't have access to that client's Arquivos tab, the agent won't read it for you either.
  • Text from a page or file is treated as information, never as a command. An instruction hidden in a PDF doesn't change what the agent can do.
  • The restricted finance agent never browses the web and doesn't read client files.

It always uses the current version. If you just replaced the file, wait for the new reading to finish and ask again.
